THE CENTENNIAL PARADE

THE CENTENNIAL PARADE of nearly 100 entries marshalled by the Rotary Club on 29/3/75 was watched and appreciated by a tremendous crowd. It featured a fine collection of horse drawn transport including the Karangahake Stage Coach which won 1st Prize in the Historical Section, others covering Trade, Sports, Schools and Service Clubs, Humorous and Decorated Floats. A wonderful display! With the Gov. Gen. and his wife Sir Dennis and Lady Blundell on the Dais near the Paeroa P.O., were the Mayor and Mayoress Mr & Mrs G. E. Lee and the Official Party and Judges.
