Chook's Tracks

Welcome to Chook's Manuscripts

Caution These manuscripts (and GPS data) are intended to record historic and heritage information about early tracks, roadways, and mining sites, as supplied by Chook Sutton. This information is not intended as a tramping guide, and should not be relied on as such. The maps display a gpx file; waypoint detail is available on mouse-click. Map layers are selectable, zoom, pan, etc. There is an overview map.

Chook Sutton, currently of Katikati, has spent much of his life in this area. He has an intimate knowledge of many of the old tracks and mining areas.

We are indebted to his energy and passion in keeping these tracks open, and for generously sharing this knowledge with us. It has been a privilege to tramp with him, and to work on this project.

Our thanks to Michelle Sinclair for the typing of the manuscripts.

The GPS data was collected 2000-2002; the manuscripts written 2003.
