Walmsley Stream dam and head works constructed. |
1905 March 13th. |
The Hon. R. J. Seddon turns on the Walmsley's Stream supply. |
1957 |
Two dams constructed on the Waitete Stream. |
1967 |
Major flooding in Waihi, with destruction of pipelines in both catchments. Walmsley main trunk renewed by a fifteen inch diameter main (from the original 12 inch). |
1980s |
Complete treatment plant and reservoir are now situated at Bulltown Road. |
2002? |
Walmsley dam no longer holds water. |
2015 |
New additional water intake installed in Ohinemuri River at Golden Valley bridge, treatment station upgraded, and water to be supplied to Waikino. |

The 1904 Waihi Municipal Water Supply dam is located on the Walmsley Stream. Access is via Reservoir Road, formerly called Upper Gladstone Road, Waihi.The 1957 dams on the Waitete are accessed via Waitete Rd.
