Cyclists and Walkers

The Waihi to Waikino section of the Hauraki Rail Trail cycleway is associated with goldmining heritage features of considerable significance. The Waihi Dredging Plant (1897 - 1910), and the Low Level Water Race and ore tramway, or "Rakeline", which were built by the Waihi Gold Mining Company to serve their Victoria Battery at Waikino.
