Hamish and Joan (nee Farrell), members of the Paeroa Historical Society, celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in January 1994. They were married in Whangarei on 18 January 1943.
Hamish was a farmer and an enthusiast of the Ayrshire breed. Both Hamish and Joan are Patrons of the A & P Association and Hamish was President of the Paeroa Historical Society from 1979 to 1982. Joan was the convener of the home industries section at the A & P show for over 30 years and has been a member of the Netherton CWI since 1947.
