An Old Timer writes to say that when Tucker Middleton and Angus McColl were killed in the mine, there wasn't a man who could travel who was not there. Every vehicle and horse in the place was there and the road was packed with foot-sloggers. The Miners frequently followed a funeral on foot.

THIS SPACE

is dedicated to the Memory of those ex-Pupils and Residents of Karangahake, who served with the Armed Forces, in some cases making the Supreme Sacrifice; And to those Residents, Teachers and Pupils who have passed on.
