The Paeroa Rotary Club is to be congratulated on erecting a substantial dual sign to mark the site of the former Karangahake Township near the entrance to two spectacular Gorges and the junction of the Ohinemuri and Waitawheta Rivers. This County Reserve Area is now a popular Picnic Spot for wayfarers and explorers. The Paeroa Historical Society was happy to supply the information on the signs in memory of Karangahake's stirring mining days and its intrepid people. (SEE BACK COVER OF JOURNAL).
