The Paeroa branch of the Kings Empire Veterans Association celebrated the 25th Anniversary of their formation with a luncheon at the Paeroa RSA on Thursday 8 February 1990.
The Paeroa branch of the KEV Association was formed on February 20, 1965. First president was the late Frank Bennett who held that office in 1965 and again in 1972-75-76. First secretary was H Cook and inaugural committee members S Tidswell, B Dufresne and J Kay. The late Jack Walsh was elected secretary in 1972 and served in that office for 13 years. Mr Walsh was presented with life and merit awards in 1986.
Following the cake cutting ceremony and speeches, the gathering was entertained by singer and guitarist, Bill Subritzky of Huntly.
