These relics of an era gone speak volumes to us all
Who've watched old Waihi's history unfold, to more enthrall
The willing subjects of a realm whose origin goes back
To miner's pick and panning dish, to canvas tent and shack.
To look upon this ancient scene; and ponder, as you gaze,
On struggles - hopes - on families who used these relics old,
Pursued their humble, daily lives in Waihi, town of gold.
