Some 50 years ago Harold and his brothers Ernie and Eric took over the Paeroa Service Station which still retains their name. The late George Neil had originally established a Caltex Business on the site (owned by the Rasmussen Family, on the Corner of Belmont and Station Road). From very small beginnings an ultra modern Service Station now graces it.
After the death of her husband Joy Moore ran the business with the help of her daughter Peggy, and then Sandra and her husband David Milner. 1970 saw the first major structural change to the building with the addition of a tyre and service bay and seven years ago Sandra and David purchased the business and planned the introduction of alternative fuel. The building development was undertaken by Mr Alex Rasmussen and his family, Caltex provided the expertise in the designing and team work has certainly brought success.
