WAIHI ARTS CENTRE and MUSEUM

President - Mrs. H. Timanus.

Secretary – Mrs M. D. Smeaton.

Treasurer - Miss E. F. Butcher.

In her Report to the Annual General meeting the President reported that "consolidation" seemed to be the word to describe most of the activities of the Association of the past year. The Association had settled down to improve or if possible complete as many projects as were able.

The Gallery Committee with Mrs. Audrey Young as Director maintained a steady succession of high class exhibitions. The Museum Committee under Mrs. Rosemary Morgan's supervision had continued to upgrade its displays.

It was hoped that the next few months would see progress in establishing the 0utdoor Museum of Mine Machinery collected by Mr. Glen Mayclair.

PAEROA SOCIETY REPORT

The President, giving his Report at the 17th Annual Meeting of the Society, stated that during the year the Museum layout had been completed, and an illustrated brochure prepared.

The new frame for pictures at the Museum had proved a great success, showing the collection of photos well.

During the year over 2,000 people had visited the Museum, with 229 in Market Week alone.

Another special feature of the Society's activities, was the annual dinner, held on 18 October 1980. It was at this event that six "Life Members" were honoured for their special support of the Museum.
