Ohinemuri Regional History Journal 23, June 1979

PAEROA AND DISTRICT HISTORICAL AND ARTS SOCIETY (INC).

The report from the President, Mr. A.F. Thorp, at the Annual meeting outlined the major achievement which the members have been working towards for a number of years, namely the Opening of the Museum on April 22nd 1979. In appreciation of the work done by our President and his good lady, the Museum has been named THE FIELDEN THORP MUSEUM. We have had competent and energetic Museum committees and our sincere thanks go to them for the fine display which is mounted. Fair attendances at monthly meetings have been noted and guest speakers have given much enjoyment with interesting talks. Special thanks to those members who had helped raise funds at the following functions, a Garden party at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Reg Hughes; Flea market and Street stall, these events were enthusiastically supported and gave the finances a good boost. Even though the Museum is now in operation, we are still in need of funds and appreciation is expressed to members who have made donations.
